'Illegal Dumping' Of 'Hundreds Of Rats' On PA Rt 230, Police Say

"A large amount of rats" were illegally dumped along a major roadway in central Pennsylvania on Thursday, Oct. 6, police say.

The Steelton Borough police were called to a complaint of a large number of rats in the area of the 800 block of North Front/PA Route 230 in Steelton at approximately 1:13 PM, according to a release by the department the following Monday. 

Officers arrived and "discovered individuals collecting the rats," police say. 

It's unclear if all the rats were collected of if there is a need for a Pied Piper of Steelton. 

An investigation into this unusual dumping incident is ongoing.
